pdf2md is a free PDF to Markdown converter that runs entirely inside your browser. The file is never uploaded to a server, there is no account to create, and nothing is stored anywhere. Heading levels become real Markdown headings instead of bold text, and tables come out as Markdown table syntax rather than a scrambled wall of text, so the output drops straight into a docs site, an Obsidian vault, or a Notion page. A single PDF can be up to 1,000 pages, and a 500-page document converts in well under a second. Because parsing happens on-device, contracts, invoices, research papers, and internal reports can be converted without handing them to a third party.
