IELTS Writing Checker

IELTS Writing Checker scores Academic Task 1, General Training Task 1 and Task 2 answers against the four official IELTS criteria (Task Achievement/Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range and Accuracy). Each review gives an overall score, criterion scores, word-level annotations, sentence rewrites and the next point to work on. Academic Task 1 charts can be uploaded as images so the description is checked against the data. In a comparison of 73 officially scored essays its average distance from the official score was 0.49 points, with 78% of scores within 0.5 (ChatGPT: 0.86 points). The site also has a question bank (Cambridge IELTS and recent exam questions), official scored samples and band 5-9 sample corrections. The free check gives the assessment, criterion feedback and next steps; paid plans unlock the scores. Available in English, Chinese and Vietnamese.
