About the Role
Our client, a cutting-edge technology firm at the forefront of artificial intelligence, is looking for a brilliant Senior AI Research Scientist specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP) to join their team in Washington, D.C., US . This role demands a passion for pushing the boundaries of AI, with a focus on developing sophisticated NLP models and algorithms. You will be part of a collaborative research environment, contributing to groundbreaking projects that have real-world impact.
Responsibilities: Conduct advanced research in Natural Language Processing, including but not limited to: sentiment analysis, topic modeling, machine translation, text generation, and question answering. Design, develop, and implement novel NLP algorithms and machine learning models. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate research prototypes into production systems. Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and NLP through academic publications and industry conferences. Publish research findings in top-tier academic journals and present at international conferences. Develop and mentor junior researchers and engineers in NLP and machine learning techniques. Design and execute experiments to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of NLP models. Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio through patent applications. Analyze large datasets to extract insights and inform model development. Foster a culture of scientific rigor and innovation within the research group.
Qualifications: Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on research experience in NLP and machine learning. Strong publication record in top-tier NLP/ML conferences (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS, ICML). Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). Expertise in various NLP techniques and libraries (e.g., spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers). Experience with large language models (LLMs) and their applications. Solid understanding of statistical methods and experimental design. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment. Proven ability to translate research ideas into practical applications.
