Computer Vision/ Machine Learning Software Engineer - Apple Vision Pro

Overview San Francisco Bay Area, California, United States — Machine Learning and AI Description This is a role for a CVML software engineer with a strong focus on developing real time visual perception algorithms for long term localization. As part of your role, you will have the chance to contribute in cross-functional projects to develop core real time perception extending the scope of our existing localization system to more challenging scenarios. Responsibilities • Some of the main responsibilities for this role include: • To implement new CVML state of the art algorithms on our real time CVML framework at production level • To support visual debugging and algorithm evaluation. • To support development leveraging other frameworks / tools specific to on-device deployment • To design, test and maintain algorithm’s APIs in C/C++ • To optimize algorithm pipelines for different SW platforms (iOS, MacOs) and HW architectures (CPU/GPU/others) Minimum Qualifications • MSc / PhD in computer vision, robotics; alternatively a comparable industry career, with significant experience on delivering products using state-of-the-art computer vision, machine learning technologies. • 3+ years of experience developing high quality software • Solid fundamentals in Computer Vision and Deep Learning • Solid experience with Deep learning frameworks and tools: PyTorch (preferred), ASW • Experience with development of real time SLAM/Relocalization systems • Excellent software design, problem solving and debugging skills • Excellent communication and teamwork skills (team player, self motivated, fast learner) Preferred Qualifications • Familiarity with macOS, iOS operating systems (preferred) • Familiarity with build systems Xcode / CMake (preferred) • Expertise with internal CV/ML frameworks for MacOS, iOS • Expertise on development of real time SLAM/Relocalization systems using vision, WIFI, depth, inertial sensors • Expertise on development realtime Visual Place Recognition using most recent Deep Learning SoTA Compensation and Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
