Your Role and Responsibilities
As an AI Research Scientist, you will put your analytical skills and business insights to work to overcome cognitive computing challenges. Your expertise will be essential in designing and implementing AI solutions using state-of-the-art technologies, particularly foundation and large language models. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Design AI Solutions: Create and implement sophisticated AI solutions utilizing the latest technologies, with a focus on foundation and large language models, and familiarity with tools like GitHub Copilot and Amazon Code Whisperer.
• Develop Cognitive Solutions: Design comprehensive solutions that analyze both structured and unstructured data, employing advanced analytical methods and a thorough understanding of NLP and ML techniques.
• Lead AI Project Lifecycle: Oversee the entire AI project lifecycle, from initial research and prototyping through to deployment in production environments, ensuring the successful delivery of solutions.
• Collaborate on AI Projects: Partner with diverse stakeholders to tackle complex business challenges, leveraging artificial intelligence to deliver innovative cognitive solutions, employing robust programming skills and proficiency in Python and various AI frameworks.
• Optimize AI Solutions: Use your expertise in areas such as NLP, Image Processing, Video Processing, or Voice Processing to enhance AI solutions and maximize business value.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Active TS/SCI clearance and full-scope polygraph from Day 1.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, material science, physical sciences, chemical engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in science and applied research in one of the mentioned disciplines.
• 2+ years of experience in applied research in areas such as algorithms, circuit fabrication, quantum information science, or materials characterization.
• Proven ability in planning, conducting, and executing scientific research and studies.
• Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to work 5 days a week in a SCIF at College Park, MD.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
• Master's degree in a related technical field.
• Experience in authoring and publishing applied research papers; patent holding.
• Background in supporting federal clients in defense, intelligence, or national security sectors.
• Familiarity with classified data environments and secure data handling practices.
